Air Temperature: 11
Sea Temperature: Not too bad
Weather: Raining

Distance Covered:

Got to Bigbury expecting 4.7 weather but everyone was out on 5.8 - 6.2 so I decided to break in my new 5.4 (replacing the Zone 5.3 that I trashed last time out). After a few runs and a bit of tweaking I got comfortable but the mast felt so heavy compared to the 100% carbon RDM I also lost last time out.

Avoiding white water was the order of the day. The onshore conditions combined with the bay closing out made it quite tricky. Got rolled a few times but also got some big jumps, then came the rain. As it started raining the wind shifted up several gears so I changed down to 4.7 but stuck with the floaty wave board to give me some purchase getting out.

Sailed for about 1/2 hour when something went pop in my back whilst going through the spin cycle. Still got full mobility but restricted head movement so I decided to call it a day. Forecast looks good for a few more days so no point in risking it. Overall a good day and not too cold.
